PERFORMANCE-BASED FUNDING
Approved by the Florida Board of Governors in 2014, the Performance Funding Model is designed to fund and reward universities based on their performance on a set of pre-established metrics.
PREEMINENT STATE RESEARCH UNIVERSITY DESIGNATION
Enacted by the Florida Legislature in 2013, the Preeminent State Research University Designation recognizes excellence in the state’s top universities. To maintain this designation, FSU is required to meet a minimum of 11 out of 12 performance benchmarks.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
The Florida Board of Governors has selected several Key Performance Indicators from its 2012-2025 System Strategic Plan and from accountability metrics identified by the Florida Legislature.
U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT BEST COLLEGES RANKINGS
U.S. News & World Report ranks National Universities in its annual edition of “Best Colleges.” These metrics represent areas where FSU will continue to focus in its efforts to climb in the rankings of public national universities.

ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES INDICATORS
The Association of American Universities (AAU) is comprised of leading comprehensive universities. Potential members are evaluated based on a set of Membership Indicators focused on the quality of research and graduate programs.
